EVERYONE’S EFFORTS SAVED TWO LIVES IN SAN DIEGO!
In San Diego, we were able to honor K9s for warrior graduate Rob, 33, United States Marine Sergeant who served for 8 years. He graduated K9s For Warriors in February 2012, where he was paired with Bravo, a Labrador. Bravo was found in Georgia, underweight, terrified of being confined, very laid-back and lovable. Bravo loved the attention and care he received at K9s For Warriors and was a favorite among the staff and volunteers. Rob and Bravo are a perfect match, they both have an off-beat sense of humor. After retirement from the Marines Rob purchased a commercial sewing machine and started a business custom making service vests and dog apparel. One of Bravo’s vests says “I’m with stupid”. Bravo clearly thinks Rob is the greatest and Rob returns the sentiment.

After Animal Fair’s Wendy Diamond learned the alarming statistic that, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs, that a Veteran affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) commits suicide every 65 minutes. She dedicated her How To Train Your Boss To Rollover book tour to raise money for K9s For Warriors. Wendy’s goal was to raise at least $10,000 to graduate one Veteran and one canine in ten cities through the successful K9s For Warriors program. Wendy and Animal Fair Media far exceeded that goal and are happy to announce that TWO Veterans with PTSD in San Diego can now apply to the K9s For Warriors program – thanks to all of the generous donors!
