Say cheese treat! Love them or hate them, selfies are everywhere! Selfie was even Webster Dictionary’s word of the year in 2013 and as long as there are cameras, it seems like there will be selfies. So, how can your dog get in on the action?
1. Check the Lighting.
There should be enough light that you and your dog are visible but not washed out. Never (unless there is no other option) take a selfie when the light is behind your back. You and your dog will just be black outlines of your cute selfie selves.
2. Make Sure There’s Nothing Strange in the Background
You never know who will show up in your photo or if they might care your dog! So, before you try to snap a picture, look around, make sure no one will interrupt you and that there is nothing that will distract from you and your dog, because even if you’re alone, things could go wrong.
3. Pose so both you and your dog are comfortable
This should be obvious, but if your dog isn’t happy taking a selfie with you, it isn’t worth taking! Also, since you might need to take more than one picture to get it right any discomfort could lead to a squirmy puppy or cramping legs and that my friend will guarantee a bad photo.
4. Smile!
5. Share
Share your new selfie smarts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Pinterest and help everyone fall in love with your pooch or share it with us in the Paws for Style photo contest!
