You’re More Like Your Dog Than You Think

Have you ever wondered why your dog is your better half? Or have you wondered why they always seem to be there for you when you need them no matter what the situation may be? There’s a reason for that. You’re more like your furry friend than you realize.

MAN'S BEST FRIEND 4

Have you ever started laughing uncontrollably and suddenly your pooch is wagging their tail and bouncing around the room with you? Or have you ever had a really bad day and your dog decided to sit on the couch with you and watch television? No, they’re not psychic. Ultimately dogs are wired not too differently than humans are. Their brain pretty much reacts to these things the exact same way yours does.

They also have some of the same needs as us such as anxiety and loneliness. The same way you may miss your loved one when they are gone is the same way they feel. A way to fix this for them is to leave them a few items that smell like you. The scent works the same way a phone call or a photo works for us. It makes them feel like you are closer the making the night go a bit smoother.

For those of you that think you have the smartest dog compared to your friends’ dogs animal psychologists believe that dogs have around the same level of intelligence, which is that of a 2 year old human baby. Most can figure out the shortest route to their favorite tree or where you are hiding his favorite treats, which isn’t too far off from what humans. In addition some are better at certain tasks than others such using their scent to search for people or to even warn someone of a seizure. These are things that human beings aren’t too good at but dogs excel. Now that’s impressive!

Overall your dog isn’t too different from you when it comes to their emotions, their needs, skills, and levels of intelligence. I bet you didn’t know that!!!
