“She’s not just a pretty face”
“She’s got everything it takes!”
The above lyrics from Shania Twain’s new album “Up!” seem to have been written to describe the singer herself. With her amazing good looks, she isn’t just one of the worlds most beautiful people, she’s also one of the most talented musicians around. Shania Twain is the queen of country and has been named for the most successful female solo artist album of all time with world wide sales of 34 million for her record “Come On Over.” Shania Twain’s loyal following not only consists of country music fans, but also encompasses lovers of all forms of music. In her personal life her regal court of course includes her husband and producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, their new son, Aja, and Shania’s other babies Tim, Tango, Shadow, Queensy, Ole’, and Chief.
As you might have already guessed, Shania’s babies are her pets! Tim, as seen in the photograph with Shania, is her handsome German Shepherd. Shania named her German Shepard Tim after Timmins, Ontario, where she spent her childhood. Her other “children,” belong to the equestrian family, each bearing unusual names such as Tango, Shadow, Queensy, Ole’ (who was rescued) and Chief. Sadly, one of Shania’s much loved horses, Dancer, passed away last year.
When Shania travels, she goes all out by taking two enormous horses along with her. Her dog, Tim, gets the pleasure of riding in style with Shania as well. What better way to feel at home on the road then to have your entire family, including your pets traveling with you.
Shania tells Animal Fair that her favorite way to spend time with her horses is to hang out in the paddock with them. She has built an amazing trust with her horse Tango, and is even able to lie down beside him. “They are all so loving,” Twain.
Shania shared with Animal Fair a funny experience with her dog Tim. While on tour once, Tim was hanging out on the tour bus. When Shania walked onto the tour bus she startled Tim and he jumped on the kitchen counter, turning on the faucet in the sink! Tim ended up flooding the whole bus. “It was hysterical,” Twain.
Twain also informed us that her animals do receive a little bit of the royal treatment. Like any loving parent and animal owner, Shania proudly told Animal Fair that her pets are “very well-behaved,” but also admits that they are a little spoiled as well Shania and her husband even went as far as to take extra cushions off their sofas to make a special lounging area for Tim in their living/family room as well as in their bedroom. Tim seems to be one pampered pup!
Animal Fair also asked Shania if Tim has any artistic vocal abilities himself (it’s true that some dogs really can sing!). Shania regretted to inform us that Tim will not be howling on any foreseeable future recordings. However she did say that Tim does love to be in the room when she is singing and recording. When it comes to music, Tim seems to artistically emulate his music producer dad, Robert John “Mutt” Lange, instead of Shania.
Growing up in Ontario, Canada, Shania said that she had many animals but her favorite was her dog, Sadie. Animal Fair also had to ask Shania if it was true that she once aspired to be a veterinarian. “Yes it is true. I always wanted to be a veterinarian because I have such a love and interest for all animals,” Twain. It must have been hard to give up that dream, but with Shania’s incredible voice and talent, the universe really didn’t give her much of a choice.
Shania’s time with her pets is precious, considering how busy she has been lately. Not only has Shania become a new mom with the birth of her son Aja, but she also completed 19 new tracks, that she co-wrote with her husband. (By the way, Animal Fair would like to point out that we absolutely love his nickname, “Mutt”!) Her new record “Up!” has been a huge success and is sure to bring Shania several awards in the upcoming year.
The couple have made this record something different than any of their other works. For “Up!” they used musical influences from their travels around the world. They used Indian musicians who recorded directly in Mumbai, India. Also, some American musicians recorded in the Caribbean. A forty-piece orchestra recorded in Ireland and even more musicians recorded specific tracks in Italy. Shania and Mutt traveled from one foreign city to another city writing songs. Their travels included several inspiring destinations such as Vienna, Paris, Berlin, Milan, Rome, Proves and The Grenadine Islands. It is obvious that an enormous amount of time, devotion, and dedication was put together to create her new album.
The first hit single of her new album is “I’m Gonna Getcha Good!” Shania plans to start pre-production for her next tourt year. She wants to reach out and connect with her fans so she can share her fresh new attitude in a timely fashion.
With her deep and unconditional love for her family, pets, and passion for music, Shania Twain is a woman Animal Fair acme and greatly respects.
