It’s time for the big game – Puppy Bowl! That’s right a little adorable puppy ruff and tumble is happening today, Puppy Bowl XII airs on Animal Planet at 3 E/P. The Puppy Bowl is a barkin’ football game featuring high-energy puppies up for adoption.
The very first Puppy Bowl kicked off in February 2005. In 2016, featuring 80 furry animals that are up for adoption, and picked from 44 different national shelters from across the country!
“We only work with dogs that are actually from the shelters and are up for adoption,” commented Executive Producer Melinda Toporoff. “By the time the show airs, though, nine out of 10 times they are all spoken for!”

The actual game is a howling fun time to watch! The audience can cheer on their favorite adoptable puppy. They roll over, bark, run and make touchdowns! Slow-motion cameras catch all the furry moves, and shenanigans!
