National Puppy Day is today March 21st!

National Puppy Day  brings attention to the love and affection puppies offer and to encourage puppy adoption. Even if your puppy isn’t quite a puppy anymore, though today is a good day to let your baby know how much he or she matters to you. Try these fun activities!

1.  Go for a run

Some little bundles of joy are also little bundles of energy. Make your dog happy and get fit at the same time!

2. Cook

Maybe you and your dog aren’t so much the “get fit” types, though. That’s fine. Why not make some puppy friendly treats together? Click here for a holiday recipe!

3. Play fetch

This is a classic dog and parent activity for a reason. It’s lots of fun!

4. Do doga

Yoga with dogs may sound funny but that doesn’t mean it’s not great for them (and you). You can find out more and how to do it here.

5. Chill and watch TV

Not a chef or a yoga person? There’s nothing wrong with just kicking back with your dog. Just let it chose the show, tonight.

6. Go hiking

It might be a bit cold out but Spring has officially started. Go celebrate with some nature.

7. Have a doggy play date

It may be Puppy Day but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. Call up your dog parent bestie and have a little get together (maybe serve those treats you made).

8. Go out to eat

Believe it or not there are lots of restaurants that welcome companion animals. Treat yourself and your pooch to a night  out. Find a dog friendly restaurant by clicking here.

9. Relax in a park

If the sun is shining then go out and enjoy it!

10.Teach your dog a trick

If you’re in the Midwest or Northeast, it’s pretty cold outside, but there’s still lots to do inside, like teaching your dog how to bow. Hints on how to do it can be found here.
