Lucky showed her support for the 99 paw-cent as she marked her spot (12 times to be exact) at the Occupy Wall Street protests.
Lucky has always shown compassion for all man and animal kind. She has tirelessly promoted animal rescue since 1999 when 12 million animals were euthanized in shelters and now, a decade later, it’s down to 5 million.
Playfully enthusiastic, Lucky found companionship with the protesters and their courageous canines and felines.
Her favorite spot to visit was the Occupy Paw Street tent, which gives out treats for these adventurous animals. While these treats were certainly tasty, they were an added bonus to what these pets were actually receiving; health insurance.
Darwin Animal Doctors (DAD) is a non-profit organization that has erected their own tent on the premises, where dogs, cats and other pets can come in once a week and receive free health examinations. While DAD’s initial purpose was to provide aid to the animals of Galapagos, they have now chosen to join the frontier and provide relief for these OWS warriors. If you would like to donate to their efforts, please visit their website at http://www.darwinanimaldoctors.com
While Lucky has since marked her spot at Zuccoti Park, her passionate opinions will continue to ring true.
LUCKY believes in the power of the underdog, and that all people and pets alike have the right to equal and just treatment to help everyone live the happiest lives possible. It is with our highest hopes that a Occupaw Wall Street can elect a alpha-dog to lead this pack to make a true difference for the 99 pawcent underdogs.
