Footloose Star Julianne Hough is Fancy-Free and Furr-ever in Love
Julianne Hough, who stars as Ariel in upcoming Footloose remake—in theaters Friday—kisses and tells, at least when it comes to her dogs. After high school, the now 23-year-old Utah native got the hell outta dodge and moved her moves to LA. Over the past few years, the dancer-slash-actress has turned our TVs into her personal stage, becoming a two-time Dancing With the Stars Champion and Emmy-nominated choreographer.
Every interviewer seems hungry for Julianne’s secret to “doing it all,” and her answer remains constant. Julianne “cuts loose” by playing with Lexi and Harley, her 3-year and 6-month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. The dogs, or daughters, as Julianne affectionately prefers, shower her with love 24/7, even starting the day with “morning make-out sessions.”
Julianne, who’s had dogs her entire life, keeps Lexi and Harley by her side at all times, even in the air and at rehearsals. Lexi, who is “like a prima donna, a princess” has become Julianne’s de-facto dance partner, whereas Harley—“a sassy pants”—gets a pass on the doggy dance lessons.
When the opportunity calls, Julianne, and Lexi and Harley, like to do their part for dogs in need. Last June, the girls visited the Manhattan VA medical center to kick off a voting campaign for the American Human Association’s Hero Dog Awards. (We’re awaiting the November 11th reveal with bated breath.)
