EXPAND FROM CYBER PET SPACE TO A RETAIL PET STORE SPACE
With the incredible success of her Internet company, Trixie and Peanut (www.trixieandpeanut.com), inspired founder Susie Bing couldn’t resist the chance to expand her business to a New York retail store. Helping her with this exciting development, Bing has been working closely with the design-and-build company, MADE LLC.
MADE LLC was founded by a collection of Yale graduates who deal primarily with residential projects. Trixie and Peanut is their first retail pet store. The designers plan on transforming the allotted long and narrow space into a simple but luxurious and open space that has different terrains in the back where pets can play with toys or have fun with other animals. “We are physically getting down on our hands and knees and thinking about the sequence of the space from a pet’s point of view,” says Nafzinger. Since most of the designers are pet owners them-selves, they understand the needs of pets to have room and freedom. The design team includes John Nafzinger, Oliver Freundlich, Sarah Strauss, Brian Papa, Ben Bischoff, Jesse Robertson-Tait and Annie Barrett. Together, they own six cats and a pitbull-boxer mutt named June.

DARN YARN DOG DRESSES THE CANINE SET
When it comes to fashion, man’s best friend has to be in style too! At least that’s the idea behind the new company, Darn Yarn Dog. Designers Barbara Pertchik and partner Penny Daniels, opened their exciting new line of pet clothing, inspired by their very own pets.
Since both Pertchik and Daniels have been lifelong pet owners, it helps them to create ideas for designs and styles. It was Oliver, Pertchik’s own 10 month old English bulldog, who first donned a hand-knit sweater, launching this whole new company. So why dog sweaters? According to Pertchik, “dogs are amongst the most precious beings in the world. It is our job to take care of them.”
Now that there is a chill in the air, Darn Yarn Dog sweaters will really come in handy. Made with the highest quality textured yarns picked exclusively by Daniels and specially designed by Pertchik, each sweater is handmade and provides warmth, comfort, and canine couture to a dog’s appearance. Each creation is directly influenced by the current fashion trends in the design mainstream to maintain a newer and fresher look each time.
Darn Yarn Dog has sweaters that are conservative, funky, glamorous as well as stylish. And to ensure complete comfort, all the sweaters are made without any irritating zippers. Prices for these sweaters range from $130 to $230 and can be found in most specialty pet shops. For more information, direct your inquiries to: darnyarndog@aol.com.

YOUR OWN “SYMBOL OF PEACE”
ANIMAL ART BAGS BY KENJI KOGA OF TOKYO
Kenji Koga has returned like a super nova to New York City to launch his latest artwork “Animal Art Bag.” It has been ten years since his last creative work graced the art world in New York City. In 1993, he won a most prestigious competition by the U.N. when he entrusted eight pieces of his artwork, including the famous “Symbol of Peace,” to reside in the U.N. permanent collection. His last 25 years’ work wholly shows his unchanged views and hopes for the ideal peaceful world.
The inspiration behind Kenji’s new project is largely due to his special partnership with Evans, a four-paw beauty. He compassionately conveys, “Pets are our partners; they need our care, help and love as much as we need theirs. Their devoted, honest, faithful, and unconditional love helps us keep balance in this uncertain, stressful, and unstable world. We feel happy and loved when we are with them and we can create a small and ideally peaceful world together.” Kenji fashions a personal “Symbol of Peace” throughout his creation for you. The Art bags are custom-made using the best materials. With these bags, you can carry your own peaceful world. Kenji has no doubt that his products will become a small step towards something greater. A portion of the profits from these bags will go to the Humane Society of the United States, where our furry friends can get the help and support that they deserve. With Kenji, you can proudly help take the first step towards human greatness and show your consideration and style to the world! For more details, check the web site at www.kenji-artbag.com.
