There are many times when people will make statements such as: ”My dog does not like men” or, “My dog does not like Boxers.” It is often backed up with a reason why the person thinks their dog feels this way. For example, a dog parent will say, “A man once was violent in front of my dog and now my dog does not like any men.” Or, “My dog was once attacked by a Boxer and now he does not like any Boxers.” But, do dogs really discriminate against an entire group for the actions of one?
In reality, dogs don’t discriminate and neither should humans! Regardless of race, gender, class, or sexual orientation, dogs love everyone and with all of their hearts! If a dog appears to be doing so, it is usually caused by the dog picking up on some other human’s emotions. Dogs feel all emotions including the negative or positive energy given off by others and depending on how a dog parent reacts, your pet will react accordingly.
Oftentimes when a dog has had a bad experience, people think that the dog is having a hard time moving past that experience when really it is the humans around them who have not moved past that particular event. Our dogs can feel negativity so when you think your dog is upset about a past issue, you are the one who is really dwelling on that issue and evidently our pets sense that.
In the end, dogs are all about energy, intention, and character. If you display these types of positive character traits, your pup is more likely to act in the same way! All that we ask now, is for everyone in the world not to discriminate! Spread more PUPPY LOVE!
