I’m a Lab puppy. I’m trying so hard to be calm when someone new visits, but I just get too excited and jump up to greet everyone, Now that it’s summer and everyone’s in shorts. I’m afraid I’ll scratch someone. How do I learn to control myself?

Dear Jonah,
Have your family help you through this puppy phase! When you jump on someone, they should gently squeeze your front paws, lower your back onto the ground, and firmly say “no.” Obedience classes also could cure this bad habit, as well as any others you might have. I’m sure a little work and growing up will solve your problem in no time.
