Dear Lucky,
My mom has a new boyfriend and I am very happy for her. But now the house looks different. She hasn’t said anything but I can’t imagine she is okay with the new paintings that are now decorating our walls. There is more than one painting of my friends playing poker and there are also paintings where you can still make out the numbers. I want my mom to be happy, but shouldn’t he be accountable for taste?

Dear Walls,
Oye! Now that is a problem. But listen, it sounds like you love your mom very much and if your mom is happy with this guy, the walls will work themselves out. She will either say something to him or perhaps switch the paintings one day when he is at work. As long as they love each other, the walls don’t have to come tumbling down. (And hopefully you’re a very short dog who looks at the floor most of the time anyway.) Good luck!
