The Society for the Prevention of Animal Cruelty of Texas (SPCA Of Texas) is the remarkable recipient of the 2009 CESAR® Five Dog Bone Award for Pet-Friendly Shelter! This SPCA is recognized by our readers for their constant dedication and loving devotion to all animals that are in need of rescue. The SPCA of Texas has rallied to provide shelter and medical care to countless animals. This animal welfare agency is comprised of two shelters, two spay/neuter clinics, and a satellite adoption center located in Dallas and McKinney. The facilities are responsible for providing over 9,000 pets a year with loving homes, and over 22,000 animals are spayed and neutered annually. Education regarding how to properly care for animals is shared with the community in an effort to increase awareness and accepts volunteers as young as 12-years-old (accompanied by an adult), The SPCA of Texas is determined to instill knowledge of animal protection and rescue to “The Lone Star State”, encouraging everyone to make a contribution of time and devotion.
