Art Fur Art’s Sake – Lucy Fremont’s Beautiful Pets in Painted and Sculpted Glory!

Lucy Freemont Dalmatian with Sculpture

As an art photographer, my work has brought me into the studios of many artists and homes of collectors.  It soon became clear to me how many animals had found a place to live with these art lovers.  On one assignment, at Jed Garet’s studio, I noticed his gray tabby was lying beneath a painting with similar colors and patterns to the fur of the cat.  This subtle visual connection kept occurring between the animals and the art they live with.  It started this series of photographs, which span almost twenty years in the art world.
