This issue of Animal Fair is truly an adventure! Inside these pages we will take you on a trip around the world, seeking out the wild and wonderful for you and all the animals in your life.

First, we escape to Kenya, to witness the beauty and mystique of life lived under African skies. We will experience the gorgeous landscapes, exotic tribal cultures, and magnificent wildlife as they roam their rapidly vanishing habitat. We will be escorted on this civilized safari by Abercrombie & Kent– commonly acknowledged as the world’s finest package tours operators, so you know we’re in for a treat.

Then it is off to Turkey, a country at the crossroads of three great civilizations. We will wander the streets and bazaars of fascinating Istanbul, then slip down to the Aegean to visit the yachting city of Bodrum. A favorite for Turkey’s artists and writers, Bodrum is filled with energetic nightlife and fashionable cafés, as well as scenery to take your breath away. We met up with Emre Erturk, a famous artist in Turkey who has come to New York City to launch his new line of bags for the canine loving fashionistas!

We will share a chat with the beautiful Bo Derek, a strong and active woman who has committed her life to animal welfare– while helping pets become gloriously groomed in the process.

Lastly, a little closer to home (or should I say “down home.”) we will mosey on down to Music City, USA– Nashville, Tennessee. A charming, gracious city of gently rolling hills, Nashville is home to a new, $3 million facility for abandoned, neglected and abused animals. Your countrified kitty or honky-tonk hound dog will have a ball seeing the sights and hearing the sounds of this culturally vibrant community.

So pack your pith helmet, your walking shoes, your most elegant finery and your cowboy hat as well. Then turn the page and come along for the ride.
