The Keep Kids Fire Safe Foundation along with Molly the Fire Safety Dog, teaches essential fire protection knowledge to children and their caregivers, aiming to reduce the risk of fire related incidences.
According to Executive Director Dayna Hilton, “85% of all fire-related deaths are due to home fires, which spread rapidly and can leave families as little as 2 minutes to escape once an alarm sounds. Most of these injuries and deaths are predictable and preventable. Education and training are important in teaching knowledge and skills to change behaviors and improve safety.”
Under the direction of Hilton, the Foundation’s K-9 Fire and Life Safety Educators, the Fire Safety Dogs, Dalmatians who have been teaching knowledge and skills to change behaviors and improve safety since 2003, have helped save the lives of 8 children and 4 adults.
Hilton concluded, “Most injuries and deaths are predictable and preventable. Education and training are important in teaching knowledge and skills needed to stay safe. We are very grateful to State Farm’s Youth Advisory Board for selecting the Foundation and for helping keep our community safe.”
Molly needs your help her reach more children and their families with her fire safety efforts.
