Whimsical Monkeys, Birds, Frogs, and Dogs Inspire Judith Murat’s Jewelry Designs
Judith Murat was influenced by fashion at a young age. As a top model, she graced the covers of many fashion magazines nationwide. She left the business to study classical art at the Chicago Institute of Art and furthered her studies at the New York Art Students’ League and the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. Throughout the years, Murat cultivated her talents and has earned the reputation as a publicly recognized portrait artist and sculptor, receiving awards and accolades.
In 1999, she opened Judith Murat Fine Jewelry in Palm Beach. Once a piece of designed jewelry was sold, the word was out and the demand for her jewelry skyrocketed. Animals have always been a source of inspiration for Murat, she grew up with horses and participated in riding shows. When asked about which animals have influenced her jewelry designs, Murat enthused, “I do lots of birds, frogs and monkeys. I find monkeys especially whimsical and amusing. Tipsy monkeys, dancing monkeys, so many sides to monkeys.”
Many celebrities have adorned themselves with Murat’s jewelry while walking down the red carpet at award shows and attending special events, including Tyra Banks, Lisa Guerrero, Eva Longoria, and Jennifer Hudson. Murat jets her spectacular and unique jewelry between Palm Beach, New York and Beverly Hills.
Besides having five children, Murat has three Shih Tzu, named Mai-Mai, Ling-Ling and Tiki. Murat adores her dogs and comments, “I have the three most fabulous puppies, they’re so beautiful. They really are my dream dogs, they’re lively, energetic and love people. My dogs inspire me greatly.”
All one has to do is take a look at Judith Murat’s stunning jewelry to see the affect that nature and animals have had on her designs. Murat explains it best, “I love the animal world, I communicate with them and they communicate with me.”
