And who can blame him?
With deluxe accommodations like America Dog and Cat Hotel in Las Vegas, any canine worth his chips will make his reservation at this Barking Bellagio!
Kitty room service, paw-dicures, and massages are just a few of the services your pampered pooch or cat will enjoy as you roll the dice and play the slots. America’s number one vacation destination is finally putting down the red carpet for vacationers who can’t imagine fun without their furry friends. Vegas.com, Las Vegas’ premier web-based travel service that offers everything from hotels, nightlife, and dining information to VIP packages, has recently teamed up with America Dog and Cat Hotel to allow Internet bookings for pet suites fit for high-rolling Rovers! According to the Travel Industry Association, 78% of people with pets would like to take them on vacation. Vegas.com provides a one-stop-shop for you and Spot, so there are no more excuses to deny your pet the lure and luxury of Sin City.
While you get yourself in trouble (and hopefully not in debt), your pet will have a truly civilized experience in Las Vegas. America Dog and Cat Hotel boasts 7,500 square feet of pet-friendly space, divided into communal play areas where dogs can socialize with friends of similar size, and spacious private pet suites complete with plush beds, rugs, and televisions playing 101 Dalmatians, Animal Planet and other of your best friend’s “must-see” TV. The three story kitty condos, exquisitely appointed with Tiffany lamps and Persian rugs, are sure to keep the purrs a’plenty. And your fabulous feline need just say the word, and will enjoy a delectable dining experience of her choice (you just have to indicate preferences when dropping Fluffy off).
Wait, did we say a civilized experience? Well, civilized, yes, but it wouldn’t be Vegas without a little glitz. At the grand opening of America Dog and Cat Hotel, and in true Vegas tradition, Elvis and his sidekick, Little Richard, a French Bulldog, alighted from their super stretch limo to the grand opening of the facility in February, to see if the digs were appropriate for the dog of the King! Last we heard they were scrambling for the Peanut Butter and Banana Biscuits.
From $49 per night for dogs, $29 per night for cats (single occupancy). America Dog and Cat Hotel can be booked through Vegas.com. Pick up and drop off can be arranged, as well as special meals and amenities. www.vegas.com.
There’s nothing that says Vegas more than a quickie wedding!
For an upscale version, where even your pet can attend, Little Church of the West is the place to go. This little church was originally built as part of the Last Frontier Hotel circa 1942, and has a hound-friendly history! In the 1940’s, the owner of the famed movie dog Daisy from the Blondie and Dagwood comic strip motion picture tied the knot in this Vegas venue. The wedded couple snapped a shot of their dogs in front of the church for posterity, which ran in several newspapers to commemorate the event. Greg Smith, a spokesperson for the chapel, boasts that there have been tons of dogs through this chapel, as ring bearers, best men, and witnesses, but there has never been a problem, he says, “all the dogs through here have been well-behaved.” Those who have said “I do” at Little Church of the West include Betty Grable, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Judy Garland, Dudley Moore, Johnny Hallyday, Greg Alman, and more recently, Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford. www.littlechurchofthewest.com.
