The three story kitty condos, exquisitely appointed with Tiffany lamps and Persian rugs, are sure to keep the purrs a’plenty. For an upscale version, where even your pet can attend, Little Church of the West is the place to go. This little church was originally built as part of the Last Frontier Hotel circa 1942, and has a hound-friendly history! In the 1940’s, the owner of the famed movie dog Daisy from the Blondie and Dagwood comic strip motion picture tied the knot in this Vegas venue. The wedded couple snapped a shot of their dogs in front of the church for posterity, which ran in several newspapers to commemorate the event. Greg Smith, a spokesperson for the chapel, boasts that there have been tons of dogs through this chapel, as ring bearers, best men, and witnesses, but there has never been a problem, he says, “all the dogs through here have been well-behaved.” Those who have said “I do” at Little Church of the West include Betty Grable, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Judy Garland, Dudley Moore, Johnny Hallyday, Greg Alman, and more recently, Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford. www.littlechurchofthewest.com.
