World Wildlife Day is celebrated every year on March 3. This special day brings to light all the important things that wildlife has done for us and what we can do to give back. The World Wildlife Fund believes that the diversity of life on Earth should be honored, respected, and kept safe through a collective effort from humankind. Everything that the WWF is doing is crucial to bettering the ecosystem. We’re here to tell you why you should support WWF and World Wildlife Day:
5. We live in a very delicate ecosystem and we are slowly causing it to deteriorate. Not only do we need the resources that nature provides us with, like food and water, but the many beautiful creatures that reside on this planet do as well. From insects to elephants, we all need what the Earth has to give.
4. WWF is working very hard to educate everyone from students to big corporations on the importance of conservation. Their many ongoing projects ensure that everyone has a chance to learn about the Earth and its inhabitants and what we can do to help. Education is key!
3. Every year, more and more species get closer to becoming extinct. Whether it be because of the declining environment or because these animals are being hunted or captured, it is our responsibility to save these majestic creatures.
2. Our furry friends need a place to live! The Arctic may be too cold for you or me, but for a polar bear it is a chilly paradise. We want all animals to be as comfortable and safe in their homes as we are!
1. The oceans are no exception! There are so many animals that live in the deep blue and sailing the seven seas would not be as fun or as beautiful if there were no critters livening up the waters. We need to protect the animals in the water because 90% of the world’s oceans are still unexplored and we have so many other friends to meet!
