We received a warm welcome from the Loews Santa Monica staff. It was a beautiful spot and a great place to stay.
Everyone at the taping of “Everybody Loves Raymond” was so nice to us. The taping was fun and an entertaining experience. They really take care of their audience! They made sure we met all the cast members, took us backstage for refreshments, and allowed us to hang out with the cast and crew and have photos taken. The cast is a great group of friendly, gracious people. It was really a pleasure to meet them.
All in all, we truly enjoyed ourselves. I still can’t believe we won!! You definitely have a fan and subscriber for life (although I would have been anyhow). I find your magazine to be intelligent cutting edge, fashionable and truly concerned with the welfare and well-being of animals everywhere. As the “parent” of 3 rescued kitties and a rescued dog, I appreciate all of your articles, not to mention the fashion and Hollywood glitter!

Flying Pets
I am glad that someone cares about this issue. A couple of months ago I got a three month old pug, Jamie, in Colombia and I decided to bring him to the US. I got all the papers in order and all the shots the dog needed for the trip. When I went to check my bags, I was holding him hoping that I could take him with me on the plane. After all he was only 5 lbs. But they told me that he had to go with the luggage. When I went to get him, he never came out of the gate. I waited there until the last person was gone, but they told me that there wasn’t anything left in the plane. I called the airlines and asked for a search. They finally tracked my dog. He was put in a storage room with other luggage and was still in Colombia. Nobody told me that I could take the dog on the plane with me because the person who checked my bags refused to let me take him on board.
I like traveling by plane, and I used to do it often, but ever since that incident, I don’t trust airlines as much as I used to. My dog suffered for three days without food or water. For everyone who has pets and would like to travel with them, please read the rules carefully before trusting the airlines. Imagine if a child were put in that situation.

Ever since I heard that a lot of make-up and hair products were tested on animals I threw away all my make-up, skin care and hair products. Now, every time I get something new I have to check on the label whether they are animal tested or not.
The Cruelty Free beauty section is a great way for people to know what is really cruelty free. This way it’s easier for me and and for readers to know what to shop.
Congratulations to the Animal Fair staff for your creativity and concern! It’s about time!

Dear Animal Fair,
First of all, I have to say how much I truly enjoy your magazine. I especially appreciated Reel Pets and the article about Christian Bale in your last issue. I went to the movies to see American Psycho and found it very violent and disturbing. After reading the Christian Bale story I have a new admiration for him and the art of acting. He was so dangerous in the movie but in real (reel) life he sounds like a pussycat at heart.
I can’t wait for the next issue!
