Jenna Fischer is best known for her role as Pam in the reality parody, The Office, on NBC. This comedy delves into the lives of coworkers at a quirky paper supply company in Pennsylvania. Other television credits include Six Feet Under, That ‘70s Show, Cold Case, Miss Match, Strong Medicine, What I Like About You, Off Centre, Undeclared and Spin City. Fischer gives Animal Fair her progress report, “Our show is very artistic. Getting this role was one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. There is something so magical about a great camaraderie on set. I’ve been in this business for years and just fell in love with comedy. My character, Pam, has an office flirtation, which is really fun. You get to tap into young love again and it has really carried over in my marriage … trust me … it’s definitely having a positive on my marriage.”

Fischer is married to filmmaker James Gunn. She was part of the cast for Gunn’s 2006 horror film Slither. “James is an excellent writer. He also wrote the Scooby Doo movies and Dawn of the Dead. He’s a horror fanatic.” Fischer’s eyes light up as she recounts the story of their courtship. “We both grew up in St. Louis, but never knew each other! We were living these parallel lives and ended up meeting in Los Angeles. It’s such a small world. James and I are the boy-girl version of each other. He’s a huge animal lover as well. We dated for four months and then got engaged. Our five year anniversary is just around the corner.”

Fischer gets even more animated when the topic turns to animals. “Wesley and Andy are our kids. Wesley is a two year old Wheaton mix. We saw a picture of him on a shelter website, so we went down there and adopted him. He’s a total nut. He’ll just run out of front door and we have to chase him down the street. It always happens when I’m half-dressed or have guests over! Andy is a thirteen-year-old tuxedo cat. He’s definitely the boss of the family, I rescued him when I was in college. He will steal food from you! My mom made a tray of pork chops one night, we were getting ready to eat and one of them was missing. The next thing you know, we see Andy running away with an entire pork chop in his mouth as big as his head. I have a very special bond with both of them, especially Andy. He’s such a part of me. I could talk about my babies forever!”
