Homeward Bound Invites Women To Sustain The Penguins And Antarctica

Calling all women in science – here’s your chance to bring it home and help save the planet! Homeward Bound is a state of the art leadership and strategic movement inviting 38 women in science from around the world to make a global sustainable difference.

On December 2-21st, 2016, these women will depart on a life changing mission to Ushuaia, to find scientifically futuristic ways to help sustain the glacial Antarctica and its endangered wildlife. Ushuaia is a resort town on Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the southernmost tip of South America, nicknamed the “End of the World.” It’s the gateway to Antarctica and is known as “Penguin Island” for its penguin colonies.
Homeward Bound’s mission is to:

• Elevate the role of women in leadership globally
• Clearly demonstrate how polar science tells us what is happening with the planet
• Explore how women at the leadership table might give us a more sustainable future

The philosophy of Homeward Bound believes that women are an unrepresented pivotal global group when preserving “Mother Nature”, and are providing a chance to change this wave. By giving women the leadership opportunities they are providing a much needed platform for them to actively contribute to a more sustainable world.

Homeward Bound’s mission statement reveals the truth about women’s role on the planet, “They are the back bone of the not-for-profit, disability, and education sectors. They are emerging in all universities as significant percentages of graduates, they take up significant percentages of our workforce, and they provide the most unpaid community work. They do most of the work in our homes. They are more trustworthy with money and they excel at all but 4 of 16 well researched leadership capabilities. And they are in a profound minority globally in executive decision making roles which shape our future.”
“Homeward Bound is a metaphor for the planet, and our responsibility for our ‘home’; a link to the care women bring to living spaces, a sense that home includes the whole planet, and at its most fragile, the remote and wild Southern Ocean; Antarctica as one of the fastest changing regions on our planet.”

Homeward Bound has already picked 42 lucky women in science from around the world; Canada, France, Germany, UK, US, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, to join this exciting and unique trip!

Here’s your chance if you are women versed in science, or you know of anyone that fits the requirements, to take a journey of a lifetime and help sustain the Antarctica, and ultimately the planet! Homeward Bound is in the process of selecting another 38 women with enrollment ending on August, 10, 2015!
University of Tasmania and Bunya Productions will be producing a 60 minute documentary about the Homeward Bound participants and their expedition outcomes!
