  1. Chamomile tea. Chamomile tea is recommended for dogs with gas, anxiety and skin irritation. These three things can become very uncomfortable when it comes to your dog. However it’s most helpful towards itchy skin. You can chill chamomile tea in the fridge and spray it on the affected area on the dog’s skin. They should automatically feel a soothing effect as the tea chills the irritation.
  2. Baby Oatmeal Cereal. Baby Oatmeal Cereal is another remedy that can be used for itchy skin on dogs. To use, stir the oatmeal in a bath of warm water and let your dog soak in it for a few minutes.
  3. Dawn Dishwashing Liquid. This product is good to use in trying to fix a non-toxic solution to kill fleas. Work the later into your dog’s coat and let it soak for over 5 minutes. This allows the soap to penetrate the exoskeletons of fleas, which kills them.
  4. Johnson’s Baby Oil. Johnson’s Baby Oil is good to use on your dog when you give them baths. Dogs are extremely prone to getting ear infections, which can be very painful for them in the long run. Before giving them a bath, place a cotton ball moistened with Johnson’s Baby Oil in each of your pets ears to help prevent water from getting in there. Don’t forget to remove the cotton ball after!
  5. Flavorless Sport Drinks / Pediatric Drinks. These certain liquids are good for dogs that get dehydrated easily and are extremely active. The extra electrolytes will make sure your pooch stays properly hydrated. It is also good to give a sick dog these drinks to help prevent them from dehydrating that can be caused by diarrhea/vomiting
  6. Yogurt. So simple! Delicious yogurt is a healthy treat for your dog! It helps keep the good bacteria in your dog’s intestines in balance as well as keep yeast infections away.
  7. Epson Salt. Dissolve 3 cups of Epson Salt in a warm bath of 2 inches to help relieve your pup’s itchy paws! Allow your dog 5 to 10 minutes standing in the bath to allow the salt to work, and gently pat the paws dry after.
  8. Coppertone Water Baby Sunscreen Lotion. This is a product perfect to protect your pup from that hot summer sun! Especially if your dog spends a lot of time outside, prevent sunburn on their nose, ears and tummy by putting a dab of sunscreen on each area. Remember – dogs can get sunburn just as easily as people!
  9. Rice! Yes – rice! Rice can be used to soothe arthritis aches in dogs, especially old ones. Its very simple to do and can be very effective! All you have to do is fill the sock up with uncooked white rice, tie a knot, and heat it in the microwave for 1 minute. Then place the warm sock over the infected joints twice a day for about 10 minutes each. You can even reuse the homemade heating pad over and over!
  10. Vitamin E. This is great for dogs with dry skin! To use Vitamin E effectively, rub the oil on the area of the skin that is dry. Repeat daily and you should see results!
