Mary Rambin, spinning instructor, fashionista and animal-lover, has managed to pass along her impeccably healthy lifestyle to one very lucky little Chihuahua. As an instructor at SoulCycle (www.soul-cycle.com), the New York-based indoor cycling studio “with a yoga vibe,” Rambin undoubtedly lays much importance on her physical fitness and health for both herself and her pooch.

Several months ago, after dog-sitting for a friend’s Shih Tzu for several weeks, Rambin realized how much she enjoyed having a dog by her side, and decided to adopt a tiny pup that was easily portable and conducive to her bustling lifestyle (and small apartment). After a very long online search, she finally found Mason at a shelter in New Jersey, and scooped him up.

Under Rambin’s watch, two-year-old Mason is always at the peak of health with a clean, organic diet, made of foods with no byproducts, preservatives or fillers. For exercise, Rambin brings Mason for a two-mile jog in Central Park, then breaks for sit-ups — which, for Mason, means standing on her stomach and growling at dogs ten times his size! Rambin knows that exercise and a wholesome diet is just as important for animals as it is for their owners.

“The body isn’t only our temple,” she says, “Our pets’ bodies are their temples, too!”

When it comes to working out for both you and your dog, Rambin suggests always bringing bottled water, using a retractable leash, and being aware of the weather. “Don’t exercise extensively when it’s too hot, remember, they are wearing a coat!”

With her own hot bag line, Moё Bags (moebags.com), which have been gracing celebs’ arms since its inception, Rambin is always en vogue and loves going out in style. And though she always seems to be busy embarking on new adventures, whether for animals, fashion or fitness’ sake, Mason’s right there with her for the ride.

“He’s a very supportive dog,” Rambin smiles, “Right now as I’m starting a new company, life is challenging, and he is always there to offer kisses and let me know that it will all be okay.”
