Lucky Diamond,
Hey! I’m so embarrassed, Lucky. Recently, my mother and I went to this amazing hotel. I mean, it had the works: crystal chandeliers, marble floors, beautiful carpets, and a staff that seemed ready to wait on your every need: a delectable hotel for someone such as my mother and myself.
However, as we were just getting comfortable in our room, and my mother had ordered steak for her and had pulled out a can of my favorite food for me (only the best mind you, none of that supermarket stuff other dogs settle with), we received a phone call. Apparently, the staff had seen me in her handbag, and, get this, they don’t allow for pets. Now, at being called a ‘pet’ I was ready to go in a fit, but my mom just packed our things and didn’t say a word.
Now we’re in a low class hotel that happens to allow ‘pets.’ How do I make it up to my mom? Lucky, I am so embarrassed.
Noodles
Noodles,
Hey right back atcha’! I know the feeling. However, rules are rules. It is unfair. However, it would’ve done more damage to throw a fit. You would have hurt your Mom’s reputation or cost her money. So I have to congratulate you on acting appropriately right there.
As for making it up to her, just snuggle close to her and be good as you can for a little while. She may be a little peeved, but making her have to stay in a different hotel just one night is not going to make her love you any less, I promise. Just make sure you let her know how much you care, and she’ll come around.
And as for being embarrassed, every dog has his or her moment in time. Feel lucky yours is one of the lesser embarrassments I’ve heard, and I’ve heard a lot. No need to feel embarrassed for the silliness of some humans.
