I’m sure most of you’ve heard about the increasingly bizarre court case involving funnyman Dane Cook and his Chihuahua mix Beast. But for those of you who haven’t, Cook’s landlord is trying to evict him from his West Hollywood apartment for neglecting to pick up after Beast, who has been using the common areas of the building as his personal lavatory. Considering some of the more high profile trial cases in the past year involving canines, there are worst things that can happen than not cleaning up your dog’s poop. Sure, the neglect could cost you a pretty penny (fines can carry up to $100 in New York and L.A.), but for Dane that’s just a drop in the bucket. With the case expected to wrap up pretty soon, you have to wonder: if Dane and Beast are convicted by the jury and evicted, wouldn’t the cost of legal fees and apartment hunting been better spent on a good pooper scooper?
