Why Bulldogs Make The Perfect Companion For Anyone!

Who could resist that sweet, smooshy ball of wrinkles? Not many! That is why Bulldogs have a long and renowned history and are one of the most popular dogs in the world! Bulldogs are perpetual children: they never grow up. A Bulldog does best in a loving environment, free from fear and neglect. They are happiest when with people and require lots of attention from people. Because of their gentle nature, bulldogs are great around kids and make wonderful companions. They also make great pets for the elderly as they are laid-back, good natured and undemanding. Most Bulldogs are happy being couch potatoes! Bulldogs have a short, stubby face and nose, resulting in short breathing passages. Due to these minimal breathing passages, bulldogs tend to snore very loudly—but their cuteness definitely makes up for it and they are 110% worth it!

Bulldogs are also a popular breed among numerous favorite celebrities! Just to name a few, you can find Victoria and David Beckham’s bulldog, Coco, out and about with her toenails painted pink. Willow, Will Smith’s singer and actress daughter has an English bulldog named Mr. Rockefeller. Joe Jonas from the Jonas Brothers chose a usual bulldog name for a very unusual bulldog. Winston is a blue English bulldog! Michael Phelps, the swimming wonder,  also opted for this breed. His English bulldog is called Herman. The Jolie-Pitt bulldog usually stays out of the spotlight. (All we know is he’s called Jacques!) Coco and Ice-T can be spotted out and about traveling with their bulldog pup named Spartacus! Unfortunately, Howard and Beth Stern recently mourned the loss of a very important member of their family: their 10 year old bulldog Bianca.

All dogs require money,  time, love and dedication- Bulldogs more so than many  other breeds, English Bulldogs are prone to quite a few health problems. Nonetheless, you should adopt an English Bulldog if you want to be filled with immense joy and unending happiness. Like any breed, English Bulldogs require your time, love, and affection. They love being near people – not necessarily smothered by them – but near them; they love to be close. If you don’t enjoy… closeness, do yourself a favor and go with a breed that will be less infatuated with you. Oh! And make sure you can handle snoring, flatulence, snot-blowing, and belching—because your bulldog will do it all. A lot.

If you’re ready to get a bulldog now, consider adopting! You’ll add a loving member to your family and enrich your life. The best place to find a dog or puppy is your local animal shelter or breed rescue group. When you adopt from a shelter or rescue group, you’ll give a bulldog a second chance at finding a home and you will not add to the nation’s pet overpopulation problem. The reality is that an estimated 3.7 million unwanted pets must be euthanized at animal shelters every year — many because they could not find families to adopt them.
