Bets was crowned 2011 Best in Park this past weekend in the world’s Biggest Park where dogs competed in Central Park PAWS 9th annual MY DOG LOVES CENTRAL PARK COUNTRY FAIR. Kathy Stewart instantly knew “all bets were off” when she encountered the adorable miniature poodle winner, hence his name.
Jet Blue airways provided doggie bags for all the poop that needed to be scooped by the 8000 attendees at the FAIR (we lost count of the dogs). Dogs were absolutely everywhere – some big and some small, lots of furry ones and even some bald ones! White dogs, brown dogs, spotted dogs, and a couple of pink dogs too! Dogs in strollers, skate boarding dogs, even a few celebrity dogs!!!
PAWS President, Susan Buckley, and Fair Chairperson Dennis Buonagura were on hand to oversee the successful 2011 Best in Park. The Best in Park Dog Show is coordinated by expert dog trainer David Muriello and his team from Biscuits and Bath. The celebrity judges include Prince Lorenzo Borghese (animal advocate, star of the reality TV series THE BACHELOR, founder/President of Royal Treatment Italian Pet Spa products), Karen Biehl (star of NYC life’s reality series “Doggie Moms”, owner of Eli the Celebrity Chihuahua, committee member of NYC 4 ACC, supporter of animal charities and events) and Wendy Diamond (TV personality,Best selling author, pet lifestyle guru, animal rescue and welfare advocate and founder/editor of ANIMAL FAIR).
Mark in your calendar for next year as won’t want to miss the the Amazing Maze, or try her best on a fun agility course, or take the Canine Good Citizen test – or even attempt some dogs positions!
