If you thought there was nothing worse than being a single person looking for love in the dating scene, then think again…you could be a single dog! In the new book, “Fixed Mix Seeks Same: The First Book of Dog Personal Ads,” Christine Ecklund and Dean Minerd provide their readers with a unique and amusing glimpse into the trials and tribulations of being an unattached pooch. Finding your soul mate or one true love, is always a daunting, frustrating process to say the least and no one understands this more than canines. “Fixed Mix Seeks Same” exposes the factors that dogs deem important in finding puppy love, and in so doing, present us with insights into our own pursuits. It can be frightening how similar our minds work! Poodles stifled by religious convictions. Bulldogs looking to rob the cradle. Retrievers with high standards and fashionably-challenged hounds. They’re all here in this collection of personal ads that will leave you laughing, grinning, and quite possibly questioning your own approach to finding that special someone.
Christine Ecklund is a married, white female who enjoys “ventriloquizing” her Jack Russell, Phil. She is a writer of fiction who has penned screenplays, short stories, and someday – an excellent complete novel. She has produced and written for television and theater and currently resides in the Los Angeles area.
Dean Minerd is a single, white male, mixed breed, and loves to laugh. He’s a workaholic director and producer of television projects who is often seen cruising Home Depot. His trusty dog Scout was the inspiration for this book. Dean also lives in the Los Angeles area.
