Yom Kippur is known as the “Day of Atonement” and is considered the holiest day of the year for the Jewish people. Many people repent and ask for divine forgiveness for any wrong doing throughout the previous year. Not to take away from the seriousness of Yom Kippur, but when you are breaking your fast later today after sundown, and feasting on a big dinner, here’s some pet-friendly and entertaining food for thought!
Cat Confessions:
- I became a crazy nocturnal kitty and kept pouncing on my pet parents’ heads and meowing uncontrollably throughout the night. They didn’t sleep a wink and were grumpy the next morning, but I had the audacity to nap all day! The beauty of being a cat.
- Yep, my pet parents researched and invested in buying scratch posts that matched the home décor, and strategically placed the posts. I know they tried to please me, but being a creature of habit I opted for the tried and true wooden kitchen table. It’s still the best scratch post in town!
- It was my pet parent’s turn to have the company network party at the apartment! After she put together an elaborate buffet spread, my curious cat side emerged and I jumped on the buffet table. My claws got caught and I knocked everything on the floor five minutes before guests arrived. Ugh!
- I’ve been using the same old kitty litter for ten years now. This year I decided enough is enough, and used the antique Indian carpet as my new litter box instead.
- I realized being an indoor cat is boring, same old four walls, blah – meow –blah. I planned my escape and made a classic move. I did what all adventurous outdoor cats do – I climbed the tallest tree I could find! My only problem is that I didn’t have the experience to get down. My pet parent was frantic and called the local fire house for help! I had a blast that afternoon, and although I should – I don’t regret a thing!
You don’t have to feel guilty if you don’t have a cat – you can always adopt one at your local shelter!
