No More Treats with the Start of Lent- Happy Ash Wednesday!

Everyone is walking around with black ashes on their forehead. You are tempted to wipe it off, but fear not! These people are not protesting showers; it’s supposed to be there. “Why?” you ask. Well, today mark’s the start of Lent, with Ash Wednesday. People get ashes on their forehead to signify their dedication to Christ. Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting, in Western Christianity. It occurs 46 days (40 fasting days, if the 6 Sundays, which are not days of fast, are excluded) before Easter. Once Easter comes, the fasting is over.

Is it Sunday yet?! I NEED a treat NOW!
Is it Sunday yet?! I NEED a treat NOW!

For Lent, you are supposed to fast by giving up one specific thing. If you cannot give up anything, you must do good deeds. Baby Hope is giving up those delicious treats for Lent, because she’s gained a few pounds over the winter and is trying to watch her figure. She’s helping herself and Christianity, all at the same time! She really is a saint. Baby Hope is confident that she can stick to this routine, seeing that Sundays are now her cheat days. However, her tongue is going to be wagging Monday-Saturday for one of those milk bones.

And don’t worry, Baby Hope got her ashes but she already licked them off! She just really misses her treats already.
