From ancient to modern times, dogs have been by our side and there for us through everything, always a with wagging tail and puppy love to offer. They’re a vital part of our family and even though they tend to be a hand-or paw-ful, we love them anyway.
Whether it’s getting up at the break of dawn to go to set, or picking up lady pooches at the park, Coleman Hawkins, a jack russell terrier/beagle mix, has a great time with his puppy parent. What makes it even cooler? His dad is Eric Stonestreet, “Modern Family” star.
Coleman struck gold when Stonestreet decided to rescue him in 2001. Now, instead of being in a shelter, the pup spends his days out with the Hollywood star trying to impress women. He walks around with an air of confidence and mystery. “That’s how he lures the ladies in, and they’re like, ‘Coleman, we just want to know you. We just want to understand you,'” tells Eric Stonestreet. “He doesn’t pursue. He just sits and waits for them to come to him.” Looks like someone sure knows how to sit and stay!
Speaking of dating, Eric has some advice to share with everyone. “Girls with messy cars were a red flag for me from the beginning,” he says. This puppy parent knows how important cleanliness is, and even with a dog, he keeps his place as clean as possible.
How can you possibly expect to keep a clean home when you have a dog running around with muddy paws and a tendency for trouble? Swiffer and Eric Stonestreet have teamed up and they have the solution for pet parents everywhere. After trying the products, Stonestreet can say he would highly recommend them and they have made cleaning more enjoyable. The proof is in his neat, orderly, puppy love-full home.
“It says a lot about a person with how they take care of their house and their surroundings,” explains the star. It also makes the house a safer place for his pet because he doesn’t have to worry about what kind of junk he’s finding on the floor.
Eric, his mom Jamey, and even his pup Coleman, starred in a very funny video for Swiffer recently. Eric jumped at the opportunity to support a clean lifestyle, as he says he has always been a neat person, even in childhood (although his mom might have something to say about that…) Don’t believe it’s actually important for a big-time Hollywood star to do his own cleaning? Just see for yourself!
It’s just a fact. Dog’s shed. They can be gross. The Swiffer Sweeper targets pet hair and helps all our modern, pet-inclusive families keep their home a little neater. “Life is cluttered. I don’t need my house to be.”
When he isn’t playing a gay dad on TV, he’s taking on the more important role of pet parent to Coleman Hawkins. No matter how annoying, loud, or messy our pets can be, we love them eternally. These Hollywood boys especially have a bond that nothing could stain. “I know it sounds cliché, but there’s no doubt that Coleman is the glue that’s held me together in a lot of tough times,” Stonestreet dotes. “He’s always there, he’s always a willing listener, and he gives good feedback.”
Pick up some Swiffer supplies, and soon you won’t even be able to tell you have a dog wrecking havoc in your household . (Except, of course, for the cuddles, and kisses, and early morning wake up visits, and the guilt-inducing puppydog eyes….)
