Greyhound Friends, Inc.

Greyhounds are recognized as being the fastest breed of dog. Unfortunately, this well known fact has also branded them the world’s racing dog. Worldwide concern surrounding the fate of the Greyhound centers on the lives of the dogs once their racing careers have ended. Greyhound Friends, Inc., a small, not-for-profit organization based out of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, is dedicated to the salvation of this exquisite animal. The objective of the organization, along with the many others which exist in their honor, is to educate the public on the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of the racing greyhound into a home where they will receive the tender love and care that they deserve.

Greyhound Friends, Inc. has successfully placed more than six thousand ex-racers into fully screened and loving homes and is still hard at work finding new homes for their dogs on a daily basis. The organization houses a maximum of twenty dogs in their kennel. As each dog is adopted out, a new one immediately replaces it.

A truly non-profit organization, Greyhound Friends, Inc., derives its funding from member support, other animal welfare foundations, and adoptive families.

These well-mannered, sociable dogs elicit a positive response to love and attention and when given the opportunity, can make the perfect companion.
