Dear Lucky,
I’m so happy that the warm weather’s finally here, but my parents get a little over-protective. It’s really annoying how they keep me on such a short leash! There can’t be that many summertime health concerns for a pet, right?
Pepper – Williamsburg, VA
Dear Pepper,
Sometimes the dog days of summer are no fun for a dog at a lll. Hot cars, walking barefoot on pavement and sand, not being able to take off your fur coat – it all adds up to heat stroke if you’re not careful. Also, heart worm, which is carried by mosquitoes, is another warm-weather threat. This can be prevented with monthly heart worm pills Just remember to ONLY use your current medication: throw out any old heart worm tablets!
