Animal Fair trekked out to gorgeous Hidden Hills, CA and lounged around with 7th Heaven’s Beverly Mitchell and her delightful dogs. 7th Heaven, a TV series about a California minister’s family, is the longest-running family drama in television history, and will be now airing on The CW Television Network.
AF: Tell us about these three little rascals!
BM: Tucker is my Golden Retriever and he was my first child. I also have Bella, my black Pug, and Chico, my feisty Chihuahua.
AF: Any quirky personality traits?
BM: Tucker is definitively the big lover. He gets so excited when people come over and he always has to have a toy in his mouth. Chico is the feisty one. He gets right in your face and will lick you to death. He’s a little fighter too. My pug, Bella, is pretty shy. But, once she warms up to you, she’ll be all over you. She’s got a lot of spunk and a lot of personality.
AF: Your home is beautiful. Where do your dogs play and hang out?
BM: They love to be inside with us and watch TV. Basically the couch is their favorite place to hang out. They love to move all the pillows around and take turns jumping off. They also love to throw the ball around and play Frisbee. Bella likes to hang out in the shallow end of the pool.
AF: What breed of dog would you say your fiancé is?
BM: A Golden Retriever. He gets along with everyone and never has a problem with anyone. I’m a Rottweiler. If you get too close, I’ll bite you!
AF: Have you been an animal lover all your life?
BM: Absolutely. When I was almost two years old, I was crawling and had gotten out the front door. I was rescued by my dog, Scooter. I started crawling into the street and a car was coming. He got right in front of me and basically got really vicious and started barking at me until it turned me around. My mom came out to see what Scooter was barking at, and saw me in the front yard. He saved my life!
AF: Any funny stories you’d like to share?
BM: Tucker has a bit of a problem when it comes to humping. The initiation into our home is a little love from Tucker. It’s slightly embarrassing sometimes, but it’s really funny. It’s a mean trick we play on our friends.
