The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is considered to be the premier showcase of professional interior design. This event has grown tremendously, from a fundraiser benefiting a local Boys & Girls Club, to a must-see experience for industry professionals and thousands of design enthusiasts! Kips Bay has been setting the style, challenging its participants and inspiring visitors for thirty three years strong. The Show House has raised over $13,000,000 since launching in 1973 and all profits go directly to the 9,000 members of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. The Club provides essential after-school and enrichment programs for underprivileged children.

Dog-Gone Great Taste From A Dynamite Design Duo!

When Matthew White (one of Architectural Digest’s 100 Best Designers in the world) joined forces with Frank Webb (a self proclaimed “design junkie”) it was a match made in heaven.

They formed White Webb: an interior design firm that focuses on a unique and timeless expression of style. This talented duo has contributed to many projects, including domestic interior design, restaurants and shops. They even have two lines of furniture and a line of silver. White tells Animal Fair, “Many of our clients have children and animals, so we love the challenge of giving a house great style, but making it livable for every day life. Great style and great comfort- that is our mantra!”

White Webb was selected to create a room for the 2005 Kips Bay Deco-rator Show House, the most famous of American designer show houses. “We called our room Lady and The  Tramp, A Fetching Retreat.

It’s an office for a lady and her canine companion, Tramp. We designed a fabulous little dog bed, that we call a dog pavilion. It’s like a little palazzo, but it’s also very practical- with a cushion at the top for extra seating and a cozy place inside for the lucky dog of course!”

White’s own canine companion is a constant source of ins-piration in his work. “I have a miniature dachshund named Holden. He’s the sweetest, smartest, funniest, most loveable dog around! Holden is hysterical. When he wakes up, he yawns and makes the funniest noise like a duck quack! Before that, I had a basset hound, Phoebe, who lived a long lovely life of sixteen years. I miss her terribly.”

“We recently added a dog bed to our furniture line called Intaglio. We like to make rooms beautiful but practical, choosing fabrics that are pet friendly.” With this dynamic duo’s range of experience, one can be assured the end result will be an environment that exceeds all expectations!
