Hosted by founders Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters, the 7th annual Broadway Barks event took place in July in Shubert Alley, with adoptable dogs and cats taking center stage. Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids and benefiting NYC animal shelters and adoption agencies, Broadway barked loud to help find homeless animals a new leash on life. (As usual, celebrity Maltese Lucky Diamond schmoozed her way into everyone’s heart).
David Hyde-Pierce is best known for his Emmy-winning portrayal of quirky Dr. Niles Crane on Frasier. His latest role is Sir Robin in Broadway’s Spamalot.
