Caleigh Peters is destined for stardom. She is the daughter of uber-producers Jon and Christine Peters and her godmother just happens to be Barbra Streisand. At the young age of sixteen, this multi-talented stunner has become a special correspondent for the entertainment news show, Extra and interviewed some of Hollywood’s biggest young stars: Hilary Duff, Kate Bosworth, Mischa Barton, Lindsay Lohan and Ashley Simpson. In addition, she snagged an exclusive on-air chat with Barbra Streisand at the Showtime Emmy After-Party. Not too shabby.
Peters has also reached success as a singer and guitarist. Her first single, Reach, from her upcoming full-length CD (due out this summer) is the title song on the motion picture Ice Princess, starring Joan Cusack, Kim Catrall and Michelle Trachtenberg. Fans can see Peters in the video as well, on the Disney Channel. She also signed a recording contract with Hollywood Records, along with representation by the prestigious William Morris Agency.
This LA native adores dogs and reminisces how her cute Chihuahua, Tito, became part of the family. “My sister, Skye, and I came home one day about three years ago and my mom had this huge box in the kitchen. She said that it was an early Christmas present, but we never would have thought it to be a puppy! At that point, we already had two other dogs: a German Shepherd, Caro; and a Corgi, Sage. My mom bought Tito at this really cute pet store close to our house. But even though we bought Tito from a store, I think people should try to adopt more animals. I know I want to. I think Tito needs another little friend and I can call him Beans! There are so many animals that need a good home.”
Tito has even tagged along on Peters’ recording sessions in the studio. “I think he likes the car ride over there more than anything else! One of my producers, Matthew Gerrard, also has a Chihuahua, Jet. They always hang out.” As for barking along to his mommy’s songs, “Tito is way too lazy! The only person he barks at is our pool man. Other than that, he just loves to take long naps in the sun. He spends more time sleeping than anything else.”
However, when Tito is awake, he’s a bit on the mischievous side. “I once had to go this music producer’s house and he lives on a property that is gated. Now our house is also gated and Tito likes to sneak under the gate. So, the first chance he got, he squeezed right under this producer’s gate! But the gap wasn’t as wide as ours and he got a little stuck. He didn’t get hurt or anything, but just looking at him from behind while he jiggled his backside trying to get through, was just too funny!” As Peters’ music career continues to flourish, she already has a plan for her faithful sidekick, “Tito will have to be my official mascot! Everyone just loves him.”
