Home from Home, recently founded by the Lynn’s, an animal loving couple that moved from London, England to Ireland, is a boarding kennel stationed in Clifden, Ireland, and they desperately need our help. The Lynn’s found a barn in Clifden that had been converted into a kennel by a local veterinarian, but unfortunately, the vet simply did not have the time to finish the project, so the Lynn’s stepped in. They’ve been running the facility for about six months now, and though profits are low the Lynn’s say, “The view when we walk our dogs more than makes up for it.”
As of now, Home from Home is a labor of love. In the midst of their excitement the Lynn’s didn’t realize that they had to apply for planning permission in order to run the kennel. As a result, the Lynn’s were running an unauthorized facility and were threatened with being shut down until a favorite aunt allowed them to develop on 2 acres of her own land. But unfortunately, they are forced to build from scratch and the banks won’t lend them a penny after spending their entire savings on finishing the barn renovations. This is where Americans can help. The Lynn’s discovered a recycling center that allows them to collect $4 from empty printer cartridges. All you have to do is pop the cartridge into an envelope and the Lynn’s will receive the money. “We are not asking for people to donate, just recycle and in turn not only help us but the environment,” says the Lynn’s. The catch is, the recycling center is located in the United States so only Americans can receive free postage. The Lynn’s need to raise over $133,000 and any money raised over the target amount would be donated to an animal charity of your choice. As Americans, but more importantly, as fellow animal lovers, it is our duty to help the Lynn’s; so get to your post office and help save Home from Home. Reduce, re-use, and save the animals too!
