Hello Animal Lovers,
It’s been an unbelievable year for people and animals alike! Many animal rescue organizations answered the needed call of the animals affected by Golf coast hurricanes. These compassionate and heroic organizations sought to save and reunite the dogs with their owners. The brave efforts of volunteers from all around the country to save animals left behind is a heartfelt testament to the love we all have for our animals. In this issue, we touched on some of the remarkable people and their stories that have made a contribution in the hurricane rescue. From east coast socialite and humanitarian Frances Hayward and her dog Amigo, to Indigo Rescue out of Portland, Oregon, we capture and cover the events that took place.
Lucky is my “Most Eligible Pet” – she is single, and has the sleek body of a supermodel that I will forever strive for, plus puppy eyes that would stop a greyhound in its tracks. This issue we celebrate our Most Eligible Pet honoree’s with the one and only Hugh Hefner, the man who has more than just bunnies at his Playboy Mansion! We also included John O’Hurley, the “Dancing King” himself from NBC’s Dancing With The Stars, and his two stepping dogs. Sid and Nancy Alba, the two pugs who live with their “Most Eligible Mother” herself, Jessica Alba! All of our Most Eligible Pets have extraordinary lives cohabiting with their exciting parents who have made the world a more interesting animal-friendly place! Finally, the “Bell of the Ball” is none other then, Kristen Bell.
Looking back on the year we want to truly thank all the amazing people who have contributed to the success and animal causes of Animal Fair. Since 1999, our premise of the magazine has been based on fairness to animals. This past year we have raised awareness and thousands of dollars for animal rescue organizations across the country through our special pet oriented events such as our annual Paw For Style, Cesar Canine Comedy and the JEEP Yappy Hour Tour. Besides having an entertaining time meeting incredible DOGS (oh and people to!), all of our events in different cities contributed to the worthy animals that have brought so much love into our own lives!
Lucky and I are very exited about 2006! Don’t miss Lucky Travels premiering on Animal Planet – and as all of you know Lucky gets around (Check out Who Got Lucky! on Page 14). As you can imagine there’s never a dull moment with Lucky Diamond! And if that’s not enough please look out for us on the E! Style Network on our new show Relationship Rehab! We promise laughs, barks, and true inspiration that will encourage positive relationships!
We truly thank you, our readers, for all your support! We can’t express how much it means to us that animal awareness and your contribution to the animal community is spreading throughout the country and growing on a daily basis!
And remember people aren’t the only ones that have New Year’s resolutions; pets might have a few dreams of their own which you can check out in this issue. Wishing everyone and their animals a happy and healthy New Year!
Dog Bless!
