Sid and Nancy Alba, two of Hollywood’s most precious pugs, dove straight into our hearts and captured a spot on Animal Fair’s Most Eligible Pets list. And why not? It’s hard to resist such cute faces! Apparently, we humans feel the same way about their mama, Jessica Alba. Named one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People”, her exotic looks are a stunning mix of Danish, French and Mexican decent. Nicknamed “Sky Angel”, Alba is also a Feria hair color spokesperson. Not only do Sid and Nancy get to travel everywhere with her, they play on set, stay at nice hotels and sleep with Alba every night. She laughs, “They creep up to the top of the bed and snot on me in the morning. I love them. They keep me company!”
Born in Pomona, California on April 28, 1981, Alba moved around a lot because her father was in the Air Force. She eventually made it back to LA and took her first acting class at the age of twelve. Nine months later, she landed an agent. This dewy-eyed beauty got her start in television making appearances on shows like Beverly Hills 90210, Brooklyn South and The Love Boat: The Next Wave. Her feature film debut came in 1993 in the Hollywood Pictures comedy, Camp Nowhere. Luck was on her side when one of the main actresses dropped out. It was her hair (which matched the original performer) that got her in! After big-screen roles in Never Been Kissed and Idle Hands, Alba’s popularity was growing. It’s no wonder James Cameron cast her in the title role of his sci-fi TV series, Dark Angel. She went on to star in the hip hop dance flick Honey. 2005 proved quite eventful for the twenty-four year-old. Fans can catch her in the star-studded Sin City, Into the Blue or Fantastic Four. In 2006, Alba will add Sonic to her filmography.
Alba tells Animal Fair the man of her dreams would be a mutt … a Golden Retriever with some German Shepherd. “German Shepherds are really smart and very independent. Golden Retrievers are just loving and slobbery and your best friend. So you get the best of both worlds!” After a long engagement to her older co-star Michael Weatherly (Logan on Dark Angel) from 2001 to 2003, Alba has been linked to actor Mark Wahlberg and golfer Sergio Garcia. Currently, she is dating Cash Warren, a director’s assistant on Fantastic Four, whom she met when filming the movie. When it comes to staying in killer shape, Alba credits Tae Bo and elliptical machines. However, her furry friends do a good job of keeping her on her toes. “Sid and Nancy just love me. They want to be hugged and loved and kissed. They’re great, as long as you give them attention. If I’m gone all day, they definitely let me know it!”
