In celebration of their 20th Anniversary, Just For Laughs in association with Labatt Blue hosted a comedy arts festival in Montreal on July 22nd, 2002. Loads of comedians, including Janeane Garofalo, The Sopranos’ Steve Schirripa and Vincent Pastore, and Denis Leary attended this event–but there was one stand out stand up comedian for animal fans. Robert Dubac, The male intellect: an oxymoron? came with his two adorable pups who helped to inspire his hilarious act.

The Loews Regency’s 8th Annual Barkfest took place on July 18 to honor Take Your Dog To Work Day, and benefit the AKC’s DOGNY Canine Support and Relief Fund for police search and rescue dog teams. The event was co-hosted by Illeana Douglas (“Surviving Grace”) and Cady Huffman (“The Producers”).
The Wildlife Conservation Society held its black tie benefit gala, “Penguins and Pearls” in the Central Park Zoo, under a beautiful tent around the sea lions and penguins on May 30 to raise money for conservation efforts.
