The American Humane Association (AHA) rates movies based on the quality of the treatment the furry stars receive while they’re on the set. Ratings do not reflect AHA’s opinions concerning the content of a film. Here are the following explanations and ratings; so we know whether all the animals were happy strutting their stuff on the silver screen.
Acceptable -AHA supervised the animal action during the production to ensure humane treatment. Scenes appearing to abuse or endanger animals were simulated.
Believed acceptable -Although AHA was not on the set, by reviewing the script and consulting the trainers and producers, conclusion is that no animals were abused or endangered.
Questionable -While no animal was intentionally harmed during production, some questionable practices were used.
Unknown -AHA was not on the set and was unable to obtain or substantiate information on animal action. Unacceptable -Deliberate cruelty occurred on set.
